The monadic research design forms the basis of many of our repeatable methods on Methodify and is a type of survey used when you want to find out how different stimuli compare against each other. In this design, each respondent sees and evaluates only one piece of stimuli making this ideal if you're looking for uninfluenced responses.
When viewing the reporting for a project that includes a monadic block on Methodify, you can compare how each stim performed because the results of all of the stim are presented side-by-side on one chart per question with significance testing.
When you export raw data, the file will include both rotated and de-rotated formats:
-
Rotated Data – Responses are shown exactly as collected, with question columns tied to the position or rotation assigned to the respondent.
-
De-Rotated Data – The dataset is reorganized so each concept has its own dedicated columns, making comparisons across concepts easier.
Both formats contain the same responses, organized differently to support both raw review and analysis.
Sequential monadic design is an alternative for testing multiple stim, click here to learn more.
