The sequential monadic research design forms the basis of many of our repeatable methods on Methodify and is a type of survey used when you want to find out how different stimuli compare against each other. In this design, each respondent sees more than one piece of stimuli and compares them against each other at the end.
The stimuli are randomized to mitigate for order bias and the same questions are asked for each one.
After the respondent has given their feedback on all of the stimuli, they are also typically asked a forced choice question like, “Now that you have seen all of the concepts, which do you prefer?” This question can be used as a tie-breaker in the analysis.
When viewing the reporting for a project that includes a sequential monadic block on Methodify, you can compare how each stim performed because the results of all of the stim are presented side-by-side on one chart per question with significance testing.
Monadic design is an alternative for testing multiple stim, click here to learn more.
